Interview Preparation for Government and Private Sector Jobs

Government interview boards typically assess subject knowledge, general awareness, and demeanor. Dress conservatively and carry original documents along with attested copies.
Private sector interviews often focus on problem-solving, past achievements, and cultural fit. Be ready to discuss specific projects or numbers from your previous roles.
For both, research the organization beforehand: for government bodies, understand their mandate and recent initiatives; for private companies, review their products and market position.
Practice common questions out loud, and prepare two or three thoughtful questions to ask the panel at the end of the interview.
